This Purple Gallinule has been at my complex since Sunday, hanging around the pool area. Here it's posing on some ornamental shrubbery.

Not a bad yard bird considering that the nearest marsh is probably 10 miles off. I had one in my mature suburban neighborhood a few years back, but it was dead and thus not 'countable'.
